About the Album
Sylvia provides a breathtaking reminder of the power of this Lennon-McCartney classic, which immediately raises the question: Why haven’t more vocalists recorded it? She infuses this devastating study of alienation with a jazz-steeped sensibility that builds to Bruce Babad’s soulful tenor solo. Christian Jacob’s quietly dramatic arrangement keys on his thick Fender Rhodes chords and Larry Koonse’s guitar.
