About the Album
“Con Alma,” Dizzy Gillespie's composition, introduces hand percussion and a warm Latin character before moving into a swing feel. The performance balances lyrical piano playing with increasing rhythmic energy and culminates in an expressive drum solo feature. Performed by the Wajdi Cherif ">Wajdi Cherif Trio with Gary Wang on acoustic bass and Robert Garcia on drums. This is the second single from upcoming trio Album “Explorations”, releasing Feb. 11 2027.
