About the Album

Chain of Hopes was composed and arranged by Ilija Nikolic, who also played Rhodes electric piano and programed bacground keyboards. This modern jazz track was recorded in Zemun in 2017 and released with the album Projections in 2021. The main soloist on the track is saxophonist Luka Ignjatovic, a prominent Serbian jazz musician. The meaning behind "Chain of Hopes" is that our lives are made of small and bigger hopes that are connected in a chain. Hope is a positive feeling that drives us through life and just like we work towards a bigger goal by accomplishing smaller goals, our daily lifes are filled with hopes that we may not even be aware of. They became part of our instincts and automated functions, like thinking or breathing.
