About the Album

“Bittersweet” is a song about the loneliness of accepting defeat, gracefully. And though sadness never goes away, there’s redemption in the act of living ones life to the fullest. Bittersweet is the first of 4 “online collaborations“ from the Spice Cabinet: born during COVID-19, Bittersweet was recorded entirely separately by each member of the band in home studios in New York, Toronto, Taipei, North Carolina, Los Angeles, Boston and Beijing. “Bittersweet” features Al Strong on Flugelhorn, Lawrence Ku on acoustic guitar and The Orchid Quartet.
