Album Description

When I Fall in Love is the debut vinyl album by Boris van der Lek and the JazzFluencers, released on JazzFluencer Records. Inspired by the timeless music of Ben Webster and Harry "Sweets" Edison, the album presents eight classic jazz performances by a quintet featuring Boris van der Lek (tenor saxophone), Koos van der Hout (trumpet), Mark van der Feen (piano), Vincent Kuiper (bass), and Dolf Helge (drums).

Recorded in April 2025 at the renowned MCO Studio 2 in Hilversum, the Netherlands, the album was engineered and mixed by Frans de Rond and pressed on 180 gram vinyl by Pallas in Germany.

Rather than recreating the past, the group embraces the warmth, swing, lyricism, and spontaneous interplay that made the music of Webster and Edison so enduring.

The vinyl edition is divided into two themed sides, Blue and Rose, each presenting its own atmosphere and musical journey.

The album was made possible through the generous support of hundreds of crowdfunders and released independently on JazzFluencer Records.
