Album Description

Under My Skin is more than a covers project; it’s a declaration of love and a bridge between generations. It started with an idea from my brother, but bringing it to life turned into a shared emotional journey, rooted deep in our family story.

Our love for Frank Sinatra’s songbook is a gift from our father, a lifelong fan of those golden years — late ’40s through the ’50s — when the Power of the Big Bands ruled the stage and the airwaves. This record, titled as a direct homage to one of best known Sinatra’s signature songs, is our pledge, mine as the Producer, and Valerio Marino’s as bandleader, to honor the songs that have been with us since childhood.

Even though this repertoire calls to mind lush, full orchestras, we deliberately chose to record it with a lean, classic quintet ensemble. That stripped‑down lineup isn’t about taking anything away: it’s an act of love toward these tunes, a way to shine a light on the extraordinary, untouched quality of the writing that’s held strong for more than seventy years.

Massimo Pucciarini’s role was crucial in getting this whole thing off the ground. Together with Francesco Angeli and Alberto Argirò, we set out to “dress” these standards in a way that reveals their sophisticated core and timeless relevance, entrusting all the interpretive intensity to Valerio Marino’s voice.

This album is a professional tribute to the Art of The Voice, but before anything else, it’s a loving gesture toward our own musical story. It’s proof that great music doesn’t age — it just becomes more intimate.
