Carrera Quinta, ©LatinGrammy nominated band, releases its third album entitled “Traslaciones”. In this recording the band explores the Colombian traditional song book, seven musicians, seven songs, a journey around the music from the Colombian Andean region. The seven songs represent different styles, some of they were composed in the middle of the 20th century, others were composed in this century, and come from the new wave of colombian song writers. In all these, the band looks to tell the stories of the lyrics without the words, blending the sounds of Colombian rhythms such as “Pasillo”, “Bambuco” and “Guabina”, with elements from modal and contemporary jazz. The album was produced by Javier Pérez Sandoval, Francy Montalvo and Ricardo Jaramillo. The recording is part of a research project developed in the Universidad El Bosque School of Music in Bogotá, Colombia.
