Album Description

E3 by Alex Lakusta is an exciting new project from the Toronto bass player. Pushing the boundaries of the jazz tradition and taking influence from genres such as hip-hop and electro, the album utilizes modern sounds and electric instruments to take the listener to unexpected yet familiar territory. Long-time collaborators Josh Smiley (keys) and Keagan Eskritt (drums) round out the trio. Both of which deliver powerful performances in top form on this release. Special guest Brad Eaton is featured on trumpet for two appearances. His ability to combine and improvise with audio effects alongside the traditional role of the trumpet delivers an exceptionally dynamic and exciting listening experience.
