The release of Peter DiCarlo’s album, ‘The Other Side,’ marks the occasion for American born, Turkish based alto saxophonist’s second solo album. Having relocated from New York City to Izmir in 2021, Peter explores a fusion of jazz styles, incorporating subtle Turkish influences. Departing from his traditional jazz roots, the album weaves original compositions with nods to his first album, ‘Onward.’ This creates a thematic connection heard throughout the solos and compositions. The song, 'Ever You Need Me,' is contributed by New York based pianist, Francesca Prihasti. Featuring Istanbul jazz talents Uraz Kivaner, Ozan Musluoğlu, and Ferit Odman, the album pays homage to jazz history, blending Turkish musical nuances.
