"Spirit Of Summer" is a brand-new single release produced by Arnaldo DeSouteiro for legendary Brazilian maestro Eumir Deodato and singer Ithamara Koorax. For the first time you will listen to the Portuguese lyrics (written by Deodato himself) of "Spirit of Summer," a gorgeous song originally recorded on the "Prelude" album (CTI's best-selling record ever!) and released also as the Side B of the "Also Sprach Zarathustra/2001" mega-hit single, which won a Grammy and reached the top of the jazz and pop charts on Billboard magazine in the USA. Deodato has recorded on albums by Frank Sinatra, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Wes Montgomery, Paul Desmond, Stanley Turrentine, Astrud Gilberto, CTI All Stars, Luiz Bonfa, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Bjork, k. d. lang, Earth Wind & Fire, and Kool & The Gang (producing four multi-platinum albums and such hit singles as "Celebration" and "Ladies' Night"). Ithamara Koorax, acclaimed as one of the world's best jazz singers by DownBeat, Jazz Hot and Swing Journal magazines, has recorded with Ron Carter, John McLaughlin, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Larry Coryell, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Eddie Gomez, Luiz Bonfa, Marcos Valle, Hermeto Pascoal and Azymuth. Deodato and Koorax have previously collaborated on several occasions, including Koorax's albums "Serenade In Blue" (released by Milestone Records in 2000) and "Almost In Love" (Paddle Wheel, 1997), both arranged by Deodato.
