Album Description

Carlan Pulkkinen is a Guelph and Toronto based drummer/composer and a current bachelor of music student at the University of Toronto's jazz program. His debut album Snapshot, recorded in the summer of 2021, is an example of his playing and musical interests before heading off to study music full time. The songs are a combination of swing, funk/fusion and R&B, reflecting the range of musical styles the band experiments with. Popular jazz standards like “Stompin at the Savoy” and “Black Narcissus” are reimagined, while original compositions from all members of the band are featured on the rest of the album.
