Reflections on the Black Notes is an exploration of modern jazz through swing, modernist classical, and world music. Featuring Gotlieb on only solo piano playing his original compositions, this set of seven pieces ranges from quiet lyrical ballads to Monkish waltzes to dense, fast-paced burners.
