Album Description
My One and Only Love is saxophonist Eli Degibri's tenth album as a leader, out November 3, 2026 on Degibri Records. Degibri leads his quartet with pianist Tom Oren, bassist Alon Near and drummer Eviatar Slivnik. The album was recorded in New York in January 2023, during the quartet's run at the Blue Note, on January 11 and 12. The program has nine pieces: seven Degibri originals, opening with "Is There A Doctor In The House," and two standards, the title ballad by Guy Wood and Robert Mellin and Cole Porter's "Love for Sale." Several originals carry personal dedications, among them "Requiem to Henri," "The Good Fairy Rachel" and "God Bless Little Dorian." Degibri's approach rests on melody and storytelling, delivered with a warm, flexible tenor sound. The album runs just under fifty minutes.
