Philadelphia, PA – Songwriter, pianist and singer, Jared Feinman released his debut LP, Love Is an Obstacle, on February 12, 2021 via West of Philly Records. The album features twelve original compositions highlighting Jared’s lyrical vulnerability, perfect pitch, and expressive piano audiences have come to expect joined by sophisticated ensemble arrangements and bold dashes of theatricality. The effect is sometimes invigorating, sometimes haunting––and always accomplished. Mixed by Grammy winning engineer Frank Filipetti, Love Is an Obstacle was written, arranged and produced by Jared himself. For this release, Jared has collaborated with engineers and musicians all over the country and the cinematic “(Let’s Sing For) Love and Be Free” features a gospel choir. The anthem’s release launched Jared’s nonprofit endeavor the Love and Be Free Foundation. As a direct response to the (COVID-19) pandemic, the foundation provided relief by donating 100 percent of the song’s proceeds to Philly Music Fest’s micro-grant initiative which aided musicians and venue workers in Jared’s hometown of Philadelphia. Love Is an Obstacle is the culmination of Jared’s steady release of singles in 2020 from the forthcoming album which garnered him attention from outlets including American Songwriter, Philly Weekly, Main Line Today, The Jewish Exponent, American Blues Scene and his song, “New Life” was featured as one of No Depression’s Fresh Tracks.
