Album Description

Definitely not Jazz then, but a song I was asked to record. Here's some info on the background...... Way back in 1971, I bought a vinyl album called 'Space Hymns' by an artist called Ramases. The album cover was an amazing creation by artist Roger Dean, now famous for his album covers for Yes, Uriah Heep, Asia, Rick Wakeman, Focus, Osibisa and others. I think that I bought the album simply on the strength of this cover, which wasn't unusual for me, or my mates. It was the time of classic 60's and 70's popular music which, as that era progressed, brought forth a bewildering display of talent, with bands and artists springing up here and in the USA. Little did I think that I would go on to record a Ramases song over 40 years after the original album was released. Life Child was the first track on side one and, for me anyway, the best thing he wrote. The observations on environmental degradation are more than relevant today. This track originally appeared on "Ramases - the complete discography" in an edited form. Here now is the full version, produced by Pete Millward in Hong Kong and with a stunning guitar solo by Eugene Pao
