Album Description

Hill Country Blood is Kent Burnside’s electrifying commercial debut, carrying forward the legacy of his grandfather, R.L. Burnside, while carving out his own distinct voice in the blues world. Kent infuses his sound with a fiery dose of Blues-Rock energy and boldly reshapes the genre by blending the deep, hypnotic rhythms of Hill Country Blues with the raw energy of Blues-Rock, the soulful spirit of the Delta, and the urban grit of Chicago. The album features eight original tracks alongside powerful covers of John Lee Hooker’s Crawling King Snake and Junior Kimbrough’s You Better Run. With Kent on guitar and vocals, Garry Burnside on bass, Jake Best on drums, and Damian Pearson (aka Yella P of Memphisissippi) adding soulful harmonica, Hill Country Blood is a high-energy, deeply authentic blues experience that honors the past while charging into the future.
