Album Description

Gracias Amigo "( Thanks Friend ) Description of Juan Gabino : " We could speak a language that transcended the dimensions of this Earth; if we were to choose a way to send a message to the far side of the cosmos—or wherever we imagine it might go—this album would be that message of gratitude. Gratitude for years of friendship, for introducing me to music, and for being a mentor—a deep source of connection with the guitar from a very young age. “Gracias Amigo” is my third album of original music, in which I celebrate the bond and pay tribute to my dear friend Fer, who left this plane in 2023. As a sublimation of the emotions I experienced and the result of an inner creative drive, I sought to express this message of gratitude through the composition of five original pieces, along with two compositions by fellow band members. I also painted the album cover myself using mixed media with watercolors, representing with hands—a universal symbol—the support that lives within true friendship. These works develop an eclectic aesthetic, combining elements of traditional jazz with more modern and atmospheric sounds. The compositions oscillate between structures and rhythms rooted in the jazz tradition and others that are more introspective and experimental. The album was recorded in July 2024 at Estudio Kier (Buenos Aires) in a one-day session with a quartet lineup: Martín Wyzykier on piano, Juan Gabino on guitar, Nicolás Baumberger on double bass, and Sebastián Mamet on drums. Special guest: Lu Blanch on vocals.
