Heartcore Records presents DOES IT MAKE YOU LOVE YOUR LIFE? – the third album by Lucia Cadotsch and Wanja Slavin with their project LIUN + The Science Fiction Band. Following the previous albums Time Rewind and Lily of the Nile, the duo returns with their most bold and pioneering effort to date – a career-defining album five years in the making. A dazzling hybrid, an electroacoustic studio album featuring a 13-piece string ensemble, numerous contributors from Berlin’s thriving music scene, and Cadotsch’s unmistakable vocal style. Together, Cadotsch and Slavin have created a multilayered world - a heavily textured and sophisticated form of modern electronica and lush jazz harmonies.
Cadotsch provides the emotional depth of the project through her lyrics, melodies, and visual concept, while Slavin shapes the album’s sonic dimension with his arrangements, production, and mixing. Accompanying the album is a series of music videos, created in collaboration with choreographer and dancer Meg Stuart.
Heartcore Records founder and CEO Kurt Rosenwinkel (who incidentally mastered the record) put it best when he said, simply, “This album is a masterpiece.”
