Album Description

Plato’s "Allegory Of The Cave" describes those who are able to leave their comfort zone and uncover the true source of shadows reflected on a wall. "Daring Flowers" is inspired by this concept. Orilla was born out of Ona and Alejandro’s search for a place to have a freer artistic identity. Their music is not bound by genres and is guided by honesty and pure joy. This album is a sonic representation of that notion, as Jobim freely co-exists with The Beatles and Joan Manuel Serrat. Originals like ‘Parceria’ and ‘Dona de Mar’ explore the familiar and unexpected. The traditional Catalan song ‘El Cant Del Ocells’ is solemn and big while ‘Little Beast’ is playful and minimalist. These songs combine as the true expression of Ona and Alejandro in the rich musical ecosystem that is Orilla: unbound by limitations and constantly evolving with the waves of change.
