Album Description
The album features a band made up of six swashbuckling improvisers. They traverse tunes made up of jazz, free jazz, 20th century classical techniques and twang. Horn duties are abely filled by Alex Fraile and Will Nathman. Jazz/Country guitar wizard Ethan Stalbam joins the horns for several interesting melodies as well as stepping out for a few foot stomping solos. The pianoless rhythm section is equally at ease sitting in a vibe or playing raucous improvised passages. Patrick Overturf’s master touch creates an infinite palate of novel timbres. Driving it all is the rhythmic framework and aesthetic choices of Alex Souris.
