Album Description

SunSp.t is the name of Joe MacPhail's solo project. ArtAttack was a few years in the making. This album is an unorthadox fusion of singer/songwriter, instrumental improvisation, live drumming, and a hip hop/electronic production mentality. Joe wrote, performed, recorded, and mixed the entire project. Each instrument is its own full performance, with no quantizing. The core of this album is the sound combination of piano, rhodes, vocals, vocoder, and drums. The songs are all internally oriented, mostly about love and loss. Each song is also its own combination of genres, ending with an elaborate electronic/arabic classical/dubstep/funk fusion song. Saman Khoujinian (guitarist and vocalist for T. Gold, live/mix engineer for Mandolin Orange, Sylvan Esso) mastered the album. Kit drums for tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 10, 11 were engineered by Brett Scott at BnB studios.
