The Echo Park Project was founded in 2006 by Carlo Lopez, a Latin percussionist from Brooklyn New York who wanted to recreate the legendary salsa style of NYC in Southern California. To achieve that, Carlo engaged session and in demand musicians in California of high caliber like John Belzaguy, Joey de Leon, and Artie Webb, just to name a few. Their repertoire is a combination of original material and hot 70’s cover tunes, which have been sung from Tito Allen to… Since its creation, the band has developed a loyal following and has released two CD’s a debut (“Retro New York Salsa” and follow-up “El Viernes Social”). Thanks to modern technology in the hands of Carlo Lopez, and their tight swing, their music has been heard from Colombia to Japan
