Ms. Kinga Glyk is an admired electric bassist, known for her smooth riffs, deft bass string tops, and range of fusion/funk/smooth compositions.

The very beginning of her career was at the tender age of 12. She joined her family band, Głyk P.I.K trio, where she gained invaluable experience in performing at a young age. In 2015, at the age of 18, she released her debut album, "Rejestracja," which received positive reviews from Polish radio station Trójka and magazines like "Jazz Forum" and "Your Blues." She was recognized as JAZZ TOP and BLUES TOP in an annual surve. She has been nominated in various categories, including NEW HOPE, BASS GUITAR, and DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR.

Here’s to the power of three: Kinga Glyk is the third, breakout female electric bassist showcased of late in AAJ’s Video Highlights. Born in Poland, she was highly encouraged by her father, a jazz percussionist, to pickup the bass, and she began playing in the family’s professional band at age 10. Glyk went viral at age 20 when she recorded a beautiful, technically-demanding solo rendition of Eric Clapton’s "Tears in Heaven." The video has racked up over 3.6 million views on YouTube. Afterward, she began to tour, highlighting her chops, especially slap-style funk. Glyk has released a steady lineup of enjoyable fusion/funk/smooth jazz albums.
