Peter Sprague

Born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 11, 1955, Peter Sprague was raised in Colorado until 1963, when his family moved to Del Mar, California. Inspired by his father's love of jazz, he took up the guitar when he was twelve. By the age of fifteen he was devoting all his time and energy to learning music. He studied with San Diego jazz guitarist Bill Coleman, played in his high school stage band, and formed his first group, the Minor Jazz Quartet. Following a year's study at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Sprague studied privately and performed around the San Diego area until 1976. That year found him moving to Boston to study with many notable musicians including Pat Metheny, Madame Chaloff and Albin Czak (a classical guitarist)

A working band for five years, all of the music was composed specifically for the talent of these musicians. I was born in 1987 and I grew up in Sesto San Giovanni, an industrial town in the north of Milan, Italy. I was lucky enough to be brought up in a stimulating and creative family environment and soon I began to show interest towards music. By the age of 12 I received a saxophone as a gift from my mother and I started my studies, first in a local music school and then in the Conservatory G.Verdi of Milan. While still a student I threw myself into the jazz music scene of Milan and I began to perform throughout Italy.

Stefan Frommelt is a pianist, composer, arranger und music teacher from Liechtenstein.

Raised in a family of musicians, he decided to study music and graduated from the Musikhochschule Wien (Mag. Art., Piano & Music Pedagogy) in 1992 and the Hochschule Luzern (Diploma, Jazz Performance, Composition and Arrangement) in 2000. Further studies include master classes, with Simon Nabatov, Uli Rennert, Art Lande and Uli Scherer et al.

Mike Tomaro

Mike Tomaro has been the Director of the Jazz Studies Program at the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA since 1997.  The saxophonist, composer, arranger and educator earned his B.S. degree in Music Edu­cation from Duquesne and his M.A. degree in Saxophone Perfor­mance from George Mason University.  Prior to his appointment at Duquesne, he lived in the Washington, D.C. area for seventeen years as a member of the Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, a unit of the prestigious “Pershing’s Own” U.S. Army Band.  While a member of this group, he served as its Enlisted Musical Director and performed for Presidents Reagan, Bush and Clinton as well as heads of state from around the world.  He also composed and/or arranged much of the Army Blues repertoire and was featured as a soloist on several of the group’s albums and CDs.  Mike is a Yamaha Performing Artist and Vandoren Diamond Artist.
