Genre jumping multi-instrumentalist Willie Oteri will be releasing new material focusing on his tenor saxophone and flute playing which will include various artists such as drummer Matt Crane, guitarist Jeff Platz and electric trumpet master Dave Laczko. These recordings will be in the beyond jazz / free jazz / avant-garde arena while keeping in mind a presence for mood and melody.

The first (Mind Meld), to be released on December 20, 2021 on various platforms is a duo with electric trumpet and live loop man Dave Laczko which was recorded in a living room to just two tracks, just prior to Oteri's move from Austin to the east coast. This was the first meeting in over a year for the two musicians due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The duo had just completed a ten year residency at Kenny Dorham's Backyard in Austin Texas known as the Jazz OUTside series, which ran the fourth Thursday of each month. The duo have also released several other tracks of trumpet and guitar as well as trumpet and saxophone and are involved in releases with many artists from the United States, Germany and Italy.

Oteri's move to the east coast will provide new colors to a palette of musicians to be featured on future recordings. Some sessions will take place in Oteri's basement studio and others at studios around New England.
