Western Arts Alliance Showcases at Jazz Alley

The Western Arts Alliance, the Pacific Jazz Institute and Dimitriou's Jazz Alley present a showcase of 12 up-and-coming bands over two nights. Each band will play 20-30 minute sets.

Wednesday:
Jay Leonhart (solo bass and comedian)
Alfredo Rodriguez (solo piano)
Perla Batalla (vocals and piano)
Sara Leib Quartet (vocals, piano, bass and drums)
Ben Williams Sound Effect (piano, sax, bass and drums)
Dominick Farinacci Quintet (trumpet, piano, bass, drums, and percussion)

Doors open at 6pm Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets are $15.00

More than 700 performing arts executives, artists and managers from the Western Arts Alliance (WAA) will meet in Seattle, August 29—September 2, to see, buy and sell touring performances for stages across the West. The regional performing arts association convenes at the Sheraton Seattle for its annual conference that includes an exhibit hall, professional development seminars, showcase performances, forums, and guest speakers.

Nearly 80 artists produce “showcase" performances especially for conference delegates. Dimitriou's Jazz Alley dates are a rare opportunity to catch up-and-coming talent here in Seattle for the Arts Alliance conference. Jazz Alley is also a host venue for WAA's Performance West Program, a festival within the conference that features a selection of top-tier artists.
