Free Jazz Series 16 Years in the Making.
On April 4, 2009, WBGO (88.3 FM and wbgo.org) will kick off this year’s Kids Jazz Concert Series - a FREE, weekly, Saturday afternoon concert series bringing jazz culture and performance to New York and New Jersey. These interactive, hour-long programs give young people opportunities to learn about the distinct qualities of jazz, and why it is a reflection of our community, nation, and world. Top jazz and blues artists produce special programs tailor-made for young people. Participate in Q&A sessions with the artists, a prize drawing and receive small gifts.
Just one of the many youth initiatives that WBGO produces, the Kids Jazz Series is 16 years old and has seen a significant growth in attendance each year. The Kids Jazz Series takes place twice a year in the spring and fall. Adults must be accompanied by a child.
