"Break Hearts and Get Free Music" is the tagline for Cupid Breaker (www.cupidbreaker.com), a new free online game launched February 4th from music label Verve just in time for Valentine's Day. In the tradition of enormously popular online games such as Angry Birds, users play Cupid and shoot arrows at flying hearts. The final point score determines how many free predetermined tracks the player may download off the latest albums from Verve artists Avant, Teddy Thompson, Elizabeth and the Catapult, Sunshine Anderson and Trombone Shorty.

“Games such as this are proving very successful in the music discovery process," says Bruce Resnikoff, President/CEO UMe & Verve Music Group. “Not only do they engage the artist's fans in a fun and impactful way but the entertainment value encourages them to spread the game to friends, who then also discover the artists and their music."

You don't even have to love Valentine's Day to enjoy Cupid Breaker. Along with a happy cherubic archer, the game offers an “I Hate Valentine's Day" option of a red-faced, angry Cupid.

Doug Barasch, Verve Director of Digital Marketing and Strategy, created and designed Cupid Breaker with Nelson Wong of Studio Eight.
