Twitter has begun adding new tools that music marketers should find useful to some user profiles and is expected to roll them out system wide soon. A search box allows you to track recent activity on the hugely popular mobile social networker. Type in a band name and see what the latest tweets are saying about you. A new trends tool shows shifts in the hottest topics being discussed on Twitter. Chris Brown was a recent chart topper.

THE CONTEST
I'm working on an article (or more likely a short series) on how artist, labels and fans are using Twitter to discover, promote and distribute music. I'd love to hear your favorite Twitter tools and tricks, as well as, stories of how you and others in the music industry and fandom are using it.

All the tools and stories used in the article will include the name of and links back to your band or project and best one wins a copy of the hot new hardcover Appetite for Self-Destruction: The Spectacular Crash of the Record Industry in the Digital Age. Leave your best tools, tips and stories in the comments section below.
