The TRIBECA NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL invades Brooklyn at the Galapagos Art Space as the TRIBECA MONSTERS! tackle some of the hottest avant-pop pieces on the planet. Monster violinist Mary Rowell (ETHEL), keyboardist Geoffrey Burleson, with cellist Wendy Law and percussionist John Ferrari (May 31). They are joined by such talents as Jacob TV on solo cello and boombox; 2011 Young Composer Competition winner Dylan Mattingly and Ed Harsh on piano, Michael Gandolfi on piano, cello and percussion; Daniel Bernard Roumain and Stewart Copeland (The Police) on violin and Marc Mellits on violin and piano.
The festival continues with Anti-Depressant, the blazing hot duo featuring pianist Kathleen Supov and violinist Jennifer Choi (June 5). They are joined by Grammy-nominated violinist/composer Gregor Huebner (premiering a major new work for electronics and violin), and HBO-featured violinist/composer Jonathan Zalben, who will premiere his new work, Fireflies for voice, violin, cello, video and electronics.
