Remarkably Powerful Voice Fuels Tim Brantley’s Debut CD

Cinematic Rock Songs Taking Hold at Radio, in Advance of April 7th Release

Singer Tim Brantley is emerging as an ‘Artist to Watch’ in 2009. His first single “Damage” is already growing success at radio, well in advance of the April 7th release of his debut CD Goldtop Heights.

Brantley is a throwback to an era when musicians used distinct images and dynamic production to tell cinematic stories. His music takes listeners on a rock journey that evokes radio hits of the 1970s, when Todd Rundgren, Billy Joel, Journey and Fleetwood Mac were topping the charts with larger-than-life songs that told surprisingly compelling personal narratives.

Enter Tim Brantley – a songwriter’s songwriter who shows the potential to be a bona fide rock star. An old-fashioned storyteller with a remarkably powerful voice, Brantley creates drama via rich characters facing real-life situations. His lyrics mean what they say.

As for the vibrant sound of Goldtop Heights, Brantley says that 70s pop/rock hits are part of his musical DNA, and he aimed to transport today’s listeners back in time: “This is the way it felt standing around a radio when I was growing up. Part of it is nostalgic. It’s me seeing things through a kid’s eyes – in that way that everything is big and heightened when you’re a child.”

Goldtop Heights currently available as a digital exclusive on iTunes, will be released nationwide April 7th on Blackledge Music.

The radio story for “Damage” has been building steadily in recent months. The song is #1 on Birmingham’s 100.5 Radio playlist and remains in heavy rotation. The station’s Program Director believes that Tim has the potential to develop into a “huge”, national artist: “He's our most requested new artist, and Damage is our #1 record. When I saw Tim 18 months ago, he made me want to get back in radio so I could be the first to play his music. Tim is an incredible artist that we couldn't wait to support, and his songs are connecting with our listeners instantly. The reaction we're seeing tells me he has the potential to be a huge artist." --Dave Rossi, PD/WWMM

Georgia-based Brantley is also seeing his music pick up steam elsewhere in the Southeast, rising up the charts in Atlanta, Nashville, Knoxville and Charleston. Based on the buzz in the South, Hot AC stations in California have started playing “Damage” as well.

Upcoming appearances include a January 22nd live performance of ‘Damage’ on Birmingham’s FOX6 NEWS AT NOON; January 23rd, 7pm in-store performance and CD signing at Birmingham/Hoover Barnes and Noble, 171 Main Street, Hoover, AL; February 6th full band ‘homecoming’ concert at Smiths Olde Bar in Atlanta, GA.

U.S. Tour dates will be announced soon.
