B2B music licensing remains a hyper-competitive niche, and that spells lots of innovation and low-cost licensing for producers. Sure, sync licenses are moving southward, though the upside is that more independent artists can slot their content into films, ads, and other visual content.

Also, producers can now get their licenses fast. But what happens when you're on location—at a shoot, in a client meeting, or in the trailer—and you need to make something match right now?

Enter Jingle Punks, one of the more innovative players in this realm. The New York-based licensing shop has just released an iPad app that enables easy on-the-go licensing. Finally, the iPad is making itself useful: this would never work well on a smaller smartphone screen, and this offers a few advantages over a netbook or laptop.
