Saxophonist Erik Lawrence moved to Vermont from New York last Fall, bringing with him musical sophistication, wide-eyed curiosity and an engaging, supportive attitude towards the local creative arts scene. After several months of living in Putney, Vermont, Erik has established himself as one of the finest and most versatile saxophonists in the Southern Vermont area and fits in comfortably with virtually any gig in any jazz style. Still, he spends much of his time traveling South on I-91 to continue his well-established relationships with musicians in the New York area.
One of the groups Erik Lawrence has played with the longest is a trio involving bassist Rene Hart and drummer Geoff Mann. The three have recently recorded a CD of original material called Beautiful Nightmare," (one can infer from the title that this music investigates reality
