Working on a scene setting marked by white and black, two classic colors which neutrality flares up in accordance with the jazz of world history, Ross La Ciura develops in a very specific context (the Afro- American music of today), and a place determined by this song (Palermo that is renewed with the contemporary jazz), an essential act of love towards photography (Gianmichele Taormina)
Rosaria La Ciura studied photography in the '70s with Emanuele Martino. From 1975 to 1985 she photographed mostly in Sicily participating in some group exhibitions. Has taken up photography in 2000 and since 2002 she became involved with the music especially jazz and musical improvisation, following the concert of the Brass Group Palermo and other reviews such as Sant'Anna Arresi Jazz. In 2006 she has participated in a workshop held by Luciano Rossetti, on specific aspects of photographic work in music, dance and the theater. Since 2006/2007 following the two reviews JazzVanguard and Summer Jazz in Palermo, and since last year, even the musical and learning activity of Curva Minore Contemporary Sounds. www.rossweb.it
