After two years of steady gigging in and around the Norwegian capital to enthusiastic crowds, including a residence at the Mogador Cafe in the Grunerlkka district of Oslo, the band are releasing their debut album. It was recorded live in the course of a long weekend in a log cabin in the forests outside of Oslo in April 2008 and captures the band in full swing.
Writing in the national daily paper Dagsavisen, respected Norwegian jazz critic Roald Helgheim wrote the band have clearly put a lot of work and energy into their music, which they say is inspired by genres such as klezmer, ska and rock. I would add a pinch of latin, but the most important thing is the originality of the songs... with its dynamic arrangements this album is most definitely worth listening to."
