Skerik Interviewed at AAJ

Seattle-born saxophonist Skerik isn't a jazz musician. Or at least, he wouldn't say he is, because no contemporary instrumentalist is more indifferent to--even contemptuous of--musical boundaries and genres.

Still, through projects like Garage a Trois and associations with artists including 8-string guitarist Charlie Hunter and drummer Bobby Previte, not to mention his own Syncopated Taint Septet, it's the closest thing to a label that can be applied to this genre-bending/blending musician.

AAJ Contributing Editor Paul Olson caught up with Skerik for an interview that puts a spotlight on this remarkable artist.
