Record Store Day Drives Impressive Sales Boost

Total album sales increased 60% over the previous week

Vinyl LPs at independent record stores sold 200,000 units vs. 147,000 units last year

244,000 vinyl albums were sold during the entire week from all retailers

Vinyl albums were 37% of all album sales in any format that week

14 vinyl albums sold more than 1,000 copies each

82% of vinyl LPs last week were sold at independent record stores 

Album sales in all formats at indie stores was up 59% percent over sales from the previous week
