"Berlin", the most recent release by Ralf Krebs features the beautiful sound of the classical guitar in jazz and latin context.

Ralf enhances his approach to solo guitar playing by adding percussion and electric guitar sounds. Also a gifted percussionist, Ralf overdubbes bongos, pandeiro and percussion, to fill the wide spaces in his compositions. He adds elecrtic guitar with digital delay and volume pedal to produce ambient soundscapes which adds another dimension to his sologuitar style. This creates colorful arrangements and improvisations with pulsing percussion grooves and soft electric guitar pads. The title Summer features an excellent string arrangement adding yet another color to his versatile album.

“I see it as a big personal challenge, to expand the feasabilities of the guitar in my own compositions and arrangements. The more I explore new paths, the more ways, techniques and sounds are revealed to me, all lifting the guitar as an eminent instrument of Jazz on a higher level."

Ralf Krebs: classical guitar, electric guitar, effects, bongos, pandeiro, percussion.

Hans Georg Conrads: violin, viola on “Summer"
