Premik Russell Tubbs with Buddha on Mars

Edgar Paterson Mills and Premik Russell Tubbs combined both skill and diverse talents to create this multimedia, multi-instrumental, global music concert that will not only lift your spirits but just maybe transport you to new dimensions of mind...through the marriage of sound and image.

Edgar worked for 2 year collaborating with dancers and yoga teachers for the images of this project. The modern dance troupe Circle of Dance (Huntington, NY) in conjunction with other dancers and yoga teachers, are choreographed images projected as synchronized complement to the instrumental compositions of Premik and Edgar.

The global live music for this evening will be performed by Premik Russell Tubbs, Edgar Paterson Mills, Laurence Larry LeMasters and Steve Finkelstein.

Premik Russell Tubbs, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, will be on saxophones, EWI, flutes & lap steel guitar. 2008 and 2010 schedule had him playing Stings Rainforest Concert at Carnegie Hall. May of 2009 brought Premik to California for the Narada Michael Walden Foundation, Let the Sunshine In benefit concert. Premik has worked with Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Ravi Shankar, Narada Michael Walden, Jean-Luc Ponty, Clarence Clemons, Jackson Browne, Lonnie Liston-Smith, Sting, Billy Joel and James Taylor, to name a few. Edgar Patterson Mills will be on bass. His multimedia works have appeared on PBS and as well he has performed with dance companies at the Merce Cunningham Theater. His studio credits include platinum album with Marcy Playground. Edgar is the bassist for the Brazilian rhythm band Hynosmoothie. Natural Productions Buddha On Mars

Steve Finkelstein, a talented percussionist has recorded/toured and/or performed with Mariah Carey, Celine Dion Selena, Mary Wilson & the Supremes, The Sugar Hill Gang, Randy Brecker and others.

Experienced world percussionist Laurence Larry LeMasters will be on tabla and santoor. He was a member of the World Music Ensemble “Lothlorien" from 1976 to 1990. They were featured numerous times on John Schaefer's “New Sounds" program on WNYC. Larry plays various percussion instruments including the North Indian Tabla drum as well as Santoor; a hammered dulcimer like string percussion instrument from Kashmir. He was also director of the World Music Summer Series from 2004 through 2006 at Santosha Center for the Arts in Amityville that brought many outstanding world music performers to our local communities.

Cinema Arts Centre is an experience within itself. For years the mission of this very special venue has been to bring the best in cinematic artistry to Long Island and use the power of film to expand the awareness and consciousness of its community. They have widened this reach to include music as well with the newly renovated Sky Room Cafe and outdoor garden space.
