A young talented Polish jazz singer Oktawia has just recorded her debut album, entirely in English, to be released firstly in Poland in October 2008.
The album, called simply “Oktawia" puts a significant emphasis on the works of famous Polish artists who has influenced the international standards of culture. These include the first Polish Oscar Academy Award Winnner for Music- Bronislaw Kaper, whose song Oktawia sings on her album.
Also, the single promoting her album “Leave my sorrow behind" has been composed by two famous jazz musicians- Michal Urbaniak and Candelaria Saenz Valiente.
Oktawia Kawecka has been performing since her childhood, winning many acclaimed awards at Polish and international music festivals, including for example Polish TV channel 1 award at the International Music and Dance Festival in Konin. Since her early years she has also performed in numerous theatre plays. She has recorded for radio and TV- Polish National Radio, Jazzradio, Radio Krakow, Polish TVP1, TVP2, TVP3 and Polsat TV stations.
