UrbanWorld Records and Al Lindrum proudly present Ojos de Brujo Reworked, a remix compilation of the music of Grammy award-winning, Spanish flamenco-fusion group, Ojos de Brujo.

Throughout the last 10 years, Ojos de Brujo has represented the freshest fusion of flamenco and urban music. By staying true to their Catalan roots, they successfully merge past and present to create a unique sound. It was a difficult job selecting only five tracks from their immense and amazing back-catalog, but we think you will agree with us that the following are some of Ojos de Brujod best works: “Ventilaor R-80" (baritone, 2002), “Sultanas de Merkadillo" (Techari, 2006), “Todo Tiende" (Techari, 2006), “Una Verdad Incómoda" (Aocana, 2009) and “Nueva Vida" (Aocana, 2009).

UrbanWorld Records and Al Lindrum have spent over a year working one this project. Al who has Danish roots but lived more than half of his life in the Catalan capital is friend of both Ojos and UrbanWorld, thus combining them on this compilation was just waiting to happen. Al Lindrum is a well-known DJ on the global bass scene and is producing a number of projects, featured here as Al Lindrum with a mellow drum&bass remix that tastes of exotic, spicy but still sweet. And as LoveAvalanche with a powerful remix ripping it up in a dubstep/ragga style with a breakdown that will get most dance floors jumping.

Thirteen remixes from top producers take Ojos De Brujo from dub-step and drum & bass, over cumbia and dancehall, to house stompers and funky breaks, incorporating the unique freshness and global-bass sound that has put UrbanWorld Records on the international scene. Junkyard Productions have given “Una Verdad Incómoda" their hallmark sound, based on classic dub and roots reggae. Makala added extra double-bass and piano on his amazing rhumba version of “Ventilaor R-80." Copia Doble Systema smashes it with their electro-cumbiaton version of “Ventilaor R-80." Los Chicos Altos honor us with a nice layback funky version of “Todo Tiende." DJ Farrapo cooked up an organic funky house version of “Sultanas De Merkadillo." George Vala & Audioprophecy created an epic house version of “Todo Tiende," which is sure to blow up dancefloors. Thykier & Dubpiraten's mutual passion for bass-heavy urban sounds is heard throughout their remix of “Sultanas De Merkadillo." Suonho shows why he was selected to work with Giles Peterson and DJ Shadow with his broken version of “Ventilaor R-80." Duboffensive flips “Una Verdad Incomoda" into a fresh drum&bass tune. Tony Seal gives us a stomping house version of “Nueva Vida" that is sure to rock the casbah. And rounding off is The Empresarios with an electro cumbia take on “Ventilaor R-80."
