Icons Among Us: Jazz in the Present Tense film screening presented by the Bellevue Jazz Festival

$10 advance admission ($12 at the door). $5 student admission online and at the door.

Purchase advance tickets through Brown Paper Tickets. Individual tickets may be purchased online, by phone [1-800-838-3006], or in person at the Brown Paper Tickets box office at Meydenbauer Center (store front off of NE 6th between 110th & 112th), open daily 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

From hip-hop to be-bop, from jam-band to free-form, jazz music continues to grow and shape itself in ways as varied as the musicians who play it. This 95-minute documentary takes a timely, vibrant trip through the clubs, festivals and lives of the new generation of jazz musicians.

Featuring Esperanza Spalding, Herbie Hancock, Robert Glasper, Medeski Martin & Wood, Brian Blade and The Fellowship Band, Marco Benevento, Dianne Reeves, Terence Blanchard, Bill Frisell, Ravi Coltrane, Nicholas Payton, Donald Harrison, Jr., Wayne Shorter and many more.

After the screening head over to Wild Ginger at The Bravern for an After Party with a free live jazz performance by the Jason Parker Trio. Complimentary parking (up to 6 hours) at The Shops at The Bravern garage with validation from Wild Ginger.
