Attention Musicians and Record Labels

There is now a cost effective way for musicians and labels to utilize web video as a marketing tool. JazzEPK.com offers promotional videos starting at $350.

A Jazz EPK is a 3-5 minute video used to promote a recording featuring audio excerpts, photos, and info about the artist, music and personnel, which is posted on the web to market the music and reach the largest possible audience.

Jazz EPK was created by Bret Primack, aka, the Jazz Video Guy, to help artists utilize new media to promote their music. “YouTube is now 60% of all Internet traffic," Bret explains. “There are one hundred million people every day looking for compelling content on YouTube alone so online video has quickly become one of the best venues to engage an audience. This new medium allows an artist to communicate a message on multiple levels - via visual imagery, the spoken word, music and visual text. With online video artists and labels can reach a huge potential audience for a minimal investment."

A writer and documentary filmmaker, Bret began producing video webcasts live from Birdland in 1999. He started his own new media company Planet Bret in 2002, and has since produced websites and videos for such artists as Sonny Rollins, Joe Lovano, Billy Taylor, Denny Zeitlin and Hendrik Meurkens.

With the advent of mini-DV video production and the web as a free distribution medium, Bret began actively producing videos for Jazz artists on a regular basis and posting them on YouTube and iTunes in 2006.

His documentaries and video podcasts include Orrin Keepnews, Producer for the Concord Music Group and The Sonny Rollins Podcast for Rollins' own Doxy Records, an ongoing documentary about the Saxophone Colossus. Today, as the Jazz Video Guy, Bret has over 230 videos online, with nearly three million views.
