Lyrics API announced today at SF Music Tech that it has raised $3.7 million in Series A funding from Francesco Micheli Associates. The funds wll enable musiXmatch to expand their lyrics offering whch the company says includes 5.3 million lyrics and features the first lyrics API to fully provide international rights management.
Localized in more than 18 languages, the musiXmatch lyrics API enables online music services to use officially licensed lyrics and music metadata. The company already has partnerships with BMG, Kobalt, Universal Music Publishing Group, Sony ATV Music and the Harry Fox Agency
