This Monday, April 5th, we'll present another “Happy Birthday" edition of our special feature, MONDAY WITH THE MASTERS on MOJA Radio. This time the focus is on the ageless guitarist and father of jazz fusion LARRY CORYELL three days after the day that marks his 67th birthday. You'll hear all about his move to New York City and the birth of fusion, his love of all forms of jazz, the many people who've inspired him and with whom he's played and much more. You'll hear some of those many collaborations and of course his award-winning solo work as well. Listen for MONDAY WITH THE MASTERS twice every Monday, at Noon Eastern/9 AM Pacific, with a replay Monday night at 9 PM Eastern/6 PM Pacific and this week we place our spotlight on the great, LARRY CORYELL!

It's time to celebrate one of the greats of all time on the occasion of his 70th birthday on Monday the 12th of April, and you're invited to attend the party as we present this week's LIVE @ MOJALand titled HERBIE HANCOCK ON STAGE. You'll hear Herbie acoustic with his VSOP all-star band as well as backing up the legendary Joni Mitchell. Then it's Herbie Electric at the We Are The Future festival in Rome from 2004 and at the Knitting Factory in L.A. with Wallace Roney and other all-stars playing the music from his Future 2 Future release. Join Russ Davis as he gives you an hour of nothing but the freshest MOJA on THE ALL NEW MUSIC REVUE every Thursday at 10 AM east/7 AM West with a replay at 10 PM East/7 PM West, and twice again on Sundays at 10 AM & 10 PM Eastern. This week we'll begin with a little house cleaning as we present more of the brand new MOJA from Sweden that we debuted last week including The Elin Larsson Group, the blending of India and Sweden with the group Myhta, the great piano trio MusicMusicMusic and Mats Rondin featuring Mike Stern. Then get ready for the momentous debut of the latest from John McLaughlin. This time John's electric with a new group called The 4th Dimension and the music on the new album “To The One" is spiritual, fiery fusion for the 21st century. Then we'll return to Scandinavia for the newest work from Norway's Jaga Jazzist. Their newest is titled “One-Armed Bandit," and as usual it filled with brilliant compositions unlike anything out there and an arsenal of unique instruments played at the highest level. Every Friday beginning at 7 AM until midnight Eastern time we'll begin each hour with a classic piece of Jazz Fusion history with our special feature we call IF IT'S FRIDAY, THIS MUST BE FUSION. This Friday, April 9th, we'll continue a week-long celebration of the ageless keyboardist, composer, multi-award winner and musical visionary just three days before his 70th birthday with a special feature we call “HERBIE HANCOCK'S GREATEST FUSION HITS." Herbie was coaxed into playing electric instruments by Miles Davis and once he did there was no turning back. You'll hear Herbie with Miles as well as with many different all-stars on his solo recordings as well as with the ground-breaking jazz-funk supergroup The Headhunters. It's “HERBIE HANCOCK'S GREATEST FUSION HITS," on this week's edition of IF IT'S FRIDAY, THIS MUST BE FUSION.

This Saturday we'll salute one of the greats of MOJA as we present our weekly feature WORDS & MUSIC on MOJA Radio this one titled “HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERBIE HANCOCK!" Just two days before this incredible MOJA master turns 70 we'll look back at the life and career of a man who has been one of the most versatile and popular jazz men of all times. You'll hear all about his beginnings in Chicago and his early development, how Miles Davis helped him make the transition from all acoustic to electric jazz, his contribution to the fusion era, and lots of personal reflections on his life and career. We'll include his music from the '60's through all his changes up to today and including the 2008 Grammy winner for album of the year, “River: The Joni Letters." Interview segments followed by music will begin each hour from Noon through Midnight Eastern time (9 AM-9 PM Pacific). Join us for “HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERBIE HANCOCK," on this week's WORDS & MUSIC.
