Mark Winkler and Claire Martin Live at Catalina Jazz Club Fundraising Concert To Benefit Richard Del Belso Animal Rescue
On Sunday, August 9, 2026 at 7:30 PM, Award-winning British jazz vocalist Claire Martin and acclaimed American singer-songwriter Mark Winkler will reunite for a special one-night-only concert at Catalina Jazz Club on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 7:30 PM. The evening will benefit Richard Del Belso Animal Rescue while celebrating the life and legacy of Winkler’s late husband, whose love of animals inspired more than a decade of fundraising concerts supporting SPCALA and other rescue organizations.
The concert carries special significance, as it takes place on what would have been Richard Del Belso’s birthday. While in Los Angeles recording an album devoted to Mark Winkler’s songs, Martin suggested the two perform together that evening to honor Richard’s memory and continue the charitable work he and Winkler championed together. The Richard del Belso Animal Rescue has raised nearly $100,000 over the past twelve years.
The program will feature Winkler’s original compositions alongside beloved jazz standards and Great American Songbook classics. Winkler will open the evening before welcoming Martin for her featured set, with the pair joining together for several duets that reflect the musical partnership behind Martin’s forthcoming album.
Backing the singers will be an all-star band featuring Rich Eames (piano), Gabe Davis (bass), Aaron Serfaty (drums), and Grammy-nominated guitarist Grant Geissman. A special guest artist will also make a surprise appearance. For Los Angeles jazz fans, the concert offers a rare chance to hear Claire Martin in an intimate club setting. Widely regarded as one of the United Kingdom’s leading jazz vocalists, she has received eight British Jazz Awards for Best Vocalist and was appointed an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for services to jazz. Mark Winkler’s songs have been recorded by artists including Liza Minnelli, Dianne Reeves, Randy Crawford, and Jane Monheit, while his own recordings continue to earn international acclaim.
