Mark Berman, jazz piano star notable for his hot montuno piano playing on HBO's “Sex and the City" theme song, as well as for his live playing with such stars as Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, and Wycliffe Gordon, to name but a few, brings his jazz trio to the 67th Floor Weather Room at the Top of the Rock, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Wednesday evening February 23, from 6PM-8PM.

The Mark Berman Trio returns by popular demand to the early spring installment of the Starlight Music Series at the “venue with a view." Come after work, before the show, or before dinner to relax and enjoy great live jazz, a glass of wine, and spectacular views at sunset. Berman's trio will feature his world renowned piano playing as well as his lustrous vocals (a notable blend of Chet Baker and Jamie Cullum) on standards as well as his original songs: the evening serves nicely as a preview of Berman's upcoming trio vocal album Let the Fire In, a counterpoint and follow-up to his 2007 debut release, The Genesis Project (Mark Berman Official Website).

Featured on drums is Ben Perowsky (Rickie Lee Jones, James Moody, etc.), and on bass is Dave Richards (Neshama).

This event is free with a Top of the Rock ticket purchase ($21). Cash wine bar and refreshments provided by Rock Center Cafe. Guests must be over 21 years of age to purchase alcohol. Identification is required.
