Tim Hauser, Janis Siegel, Alan Paul and Cheryl Bentyne, The Manhattan Transfer will Swing at the great outdoor setting of the Hollywood Bowl August 16th, along with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Manhattan Transfer is a study in the nature of swing.
Multiple Grammy-winning mixed quartet Manhattan Transfer is known for their expertise in many styles of music, including doo-wop, cabaret and Brazilian music for example, but they have been best known for their live performances and incomparable jazz singing. Transfer is simply a joy, probably the greatest vocal jazz group of all time, live on stage, filling with sweet, smoking, soulful jazz.
This seasons, JZ2 celebrates jazz greats across the spectrum, including George Benson, a birthday celebration with and for Gerald Wilson & Hank Jones, and the Queen of the Blues herself, Ms. Etta James.
