8am, Regent Street, London. Hundreds of shoppers, photographers, journalists, security staff, police and curious onlookers crowd Apple's flagship UK store as part of the British iPad launch.
Stephen Fry made a surprise appearance to cheers and claps from the crowds of queuers and Apple staff. He already had an iPad of course, but showed up to be a part of the madness.
Also in attendance, and pictured above, was the record-holding world's tallest couple, in full bridal attire. Obviously a giant PR stunt, but they were sweet regardless.
As the minutes passed, more and more first-to-the-till shoppers emerged, to rounds of applause and the onslaught of questions and flash photography, courtesy of the nation's media -- Wired included.
It appeared to be another flawless product launch for the company, with the usual over- the-top ludicrousness of Apple's cheering staff.
We've got a full gallery of photos from the early morning event.
