The Dynamic Les DeMerle Little Big Band, featuring vocalist Bonnie Eisele, will transport their popular Dance and Jazz Party to the high seas this fall when they settle into a unique seven-day musical cruise in the Caribbean. The group will be featured nightly on MSC Cruises’ newest ship, The Seascape, from November 11-18, 2023. They will begin with an opening VIP cocktail party where guests can meet and greet the musicians and follow with themed nightly jazz parties. Dancers can expect a plethora of popular dance styles like Swing, Fox Trot, classic Ballads, Cha Cha, Merengue, Samba, Mambo plus Motown and an occasional Waltz.

The Little Big Band, with DeMerle on drums and Eisele dressing up the classic American Jazz songbook, includes Dr. Bill Prince and Ajax McDonell on saxophone, carinet and flute, Marvin Ferebee, formerly with Ray Charles, on trumpet and flugelhorn, Bill Hazlett, on trombone, plus smooth jazz recording artist Mike Levine, piano and Nicky Orta, bass. According to DeMerle, the Artistic Director of the Amelia Island Jazz Festival, “we’re going to keep it exclusive by limiting the charter to 150 passengers, so there will be plenty of room on the dance floor.” The band will be playing special theme nights that will include: Tribute To The Big Bands, Celebrating Sinatra and Bennett, My Funny Valentine Romance Night, and a N’Awlins Jazz Party Night. Additionally, DeMerle, who played for years with the Harry James big band and played with Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and more will present his popular Lecture/Video presentation, My Life In Music, in the afternoon on one of the sea days.

“This is truly a Once In A Lifetime opportunity to hear and dance to the band while meeting lots of music lovers, dancers and jazz fans from all over the world. Our package also includes an open bar and free WiFi,” DeMerle added.
